Happy New Year! January is the month when we all take a look at where we were over the last year and where we hope to go within the next twelve months. New Year’s is a great time for resolutions, and one that we’d suggest for you is an audit of your operating system.
By that, we refer to the equipment and protocols by which you generate and transmit information when it comes to conducting business.
An audit should answer these questions for you:
- Is your system of generating documents secure? Are there vulnerabilities which leave valuable information exposed?
- Is your system of generating documents efficient? Are you producing paper copies at the most efficient per-page rate? Are there pieces of equipment which are over-utilized, under-utilized or which could be replaced with equipment that is more suited to your needs?
- Are your backup systems adequate?
Looking to reduce the per-page cost of generating documents does not always result in recommending that new equipment be brought into your business. Sometimes it’s just a matter of streamlining the way in which what you have functions.
